How to lessen pain in fingers from bending guitar strings?

I played guitars for months and months with the same problem. Then one day I was super glueing my sisters pencil to her ceiling (dont ask), and I got super glue on the tips of my index, middle, and ring finger. I automatically noticed it looked like a thicker layer of calluses. So I tried it out and boom I could hardly feel anything. Next thing you know I'm playing Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix with ease and NO finger pain. And the glue comes off easily with a knife.
