How were M1 Abrams Tanks & M2/M3 Bradley IFV's transported to Iraq?

Sometimes air landed by aircraft, sometimes shipped via boat. Probably almost always shipped on a boat, those are pretty big vehicles. . . it would be more cost effective to use ships for those. Any branch could potentially be shipping your vehicles but more than likely a civilian contractor is doing it. What we did with ours was a month before we left to go to Iraq, we took our vehicles to the shipyard so customs could inspect them filled out all the required paperwork, tagged the vehicles with what looked like UPS shipping stickers (lol) then they took them and put them on a boat. Not sure if they put them in a container or not . . . didn't see them again for several months after we were already in country.
